Just giving an update on the ramrod skidsteer mess. In October I called my credit card company and got a full refund. As far as I'm concerned it shouldn't take 10 months to receive a machine. I am done dealing with ramrod and looking into boxer skidsteers. If anyone has experience with them i am open to hearing them. Thanks
Got a ramrod 900t mini skid steer. Replaced both wheel motors put a Honda clone predator engine in foam filled the tires. It has a high low switch and is oddly fast on straight aways This fits through a 35” gate and saves the back. ,500 in Madison WI I never knew the mt52 could use a standard skid steer bucket. There are no bobcat dealers conveniently located to me which is why I choose any other mini I got a good deal on. I like having the ability to rent attachments nearby for it for the rare odd job around the house.
Royce, I am a jilted Ramrod owner. LEONS MANUFACTURING (Ramrod manufacturer) WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR EQUIPMENT. My experience as an owner of a Ramrod 915T was: 1. The customer service was my worst experience ever, including dealings with the warranty/quality assurance representative & the President of Leons Mnfg. 2. My biggest issue with the mini skid is turf damage. We currently run the full size type skid loader asv rc50 green tracks which are awesome on the turf and pick up a heavy load, yet the minis I've seen pick up a fraction of the asv combined with turf damage I can't see myself to buying a mini unless it had smooth tracks like the asv. We eventually went with the DW Zahn, but I prefer the SK models myself. The crew I'm with now had to rent one while our mini was down, and the controls were as dreamy as I remembered. Super smooth and intuitive. Between Boxer, Vermeer, Ramrod, and DW controls and overall performance, I feel that DW outperforms the rest and at a competitive price. This year I modified my chipper fenders to allow the chipper to fit in the trailer. The box roof on the trailer is modified to allow me to drive my ramrod 900t mini skid steer in with the branch manger and raise the grapple, lets the chipper chute fit too. The Ramrod fit nicely in the back of my one ton at 2k lbs.
Man I'm so glad I did not but a tracked skid steer. Our Ram Rod 900t is down for the moment due to hydraulic motor failure.not bad it lasted over 10 years. 0 fix. We rented a ditch witch diesel jobber for a week. Now I considered my self a decent operator.before I drove this beast. This thing just wants to tear lawns apart. So I have an early 2000 Ram Rod 900T with 23hp kohler, turf tires and a BMG. The majority of our jobs utilize if not hinge upon this machine. We do lots of back yards and scaped environments. Really considered getting another one due to dependency, but an arbor trolley is next and then a 50-60hp skid steer most likely.
