Is it possible to put an overhead door (similar to Kubota) in a bobcat. We would like a door that opens up and out of the way. We do have a regular swing to the side door that is rarely on the machine. Really dislike having to have the bucket all the way down to open the door. Has anyone done this or know of an after market lift type door? TIA
We've been down that road of having to twist stuff and/or skid it in the door sideways and it's no fun. We passed the point of that working a long time ago with our current shop. We don't want to be looking back 10 years down the road and say..gee, I wish that door would have bene bigger. I have a Deere 320 Skid Steer with the A/C & heat that I can get out of with the loader raised. The cab door on these raises overhead and you don't need to remove it. The operator platform/cab will tilt up on gas shocks by removing . The best thing about that Kubota was the swing up door. I find myself wishing that our Case had a door like that all the time. You can actually use the machine with the door open (without taking it off the machine ) and you can get out . They both have their place but I really like our telehandler over the skid steer. We run a bobcat 417, small, nimble, great lifting capacity. I hate having to get the door open on the skid steer with a load. sometimes pretty unsafe but do it sometimes also. Can handle a 265 gallon tote of chemical, or seed totes with ease.

I've got a Terex PT 110 F that has been good...If you have a good dealer within a reasonable distance, I wouldn't be afraid of an ASV machine .
They are so different that it is hard to really compare as they both excel in their strong points. For ease of entry/exit a telehandler wins hands down. For doing dirt work and just about any precise loader work it’s hard to beat the skid steer, mainly because of visibility and maneuverability. After buying and using a kabota skid steer for a couple years I wouldn't think of another brand unless they had a overhead door. With the overhead door you can get out of the machine with the boom up and I do that all the time when using it to move farm machinery in the yard and when loading or unloading chemicals on semis. Having two doors side by side with a swing up center would probably be your best bet at not losing the ability to drive anything in. Shop doors. Double overhead vs. hydroswing.
