Granted it was a different kind of snow removal, we did residential driveways with a blower due to the amount of snow, so travel speed wasnt that important, most of the time you were barely moving. I always thought an all wheel steer would have been the way to go for plowing. x2 Excavator gets more than double the use than the skid (all-wheel steer in my case). Small jobs we don't even bring the skid and have the pallets delivered right where we need them. Excavate, load spoil, lift large compactor, backfill & grade all with excavator.

Deere skid steers are cheap on price always have been. Check resale and what you save upfront you will pay on the backside. The 440 really is an awesome machine more power than anything in its class and as fast a skid steer as I have run. I have an old case skid loader. It's good but is just too destructive for landscape use. Deep ruts and torn up lawns, no matter how hard I try not to. I have seen skid steers on lawns before, some leaving damage, some now. Even saw a guy popping wheelies to not tear it up. Tractor's too big for the work I do, is any skid steer good on the lawn? The VTS system is a pretty good option, but if it is going to cost you the same money to trade, then you may as well get a new machine.
