i have a 1986 843 bobcat the hyrdaulic making a whining noise at lower engine speed at faster speed not as noticable, i have change the filter and fluids twice, the hyradulic pump cracked on me, new pump installed still have whining noise, using original bobcat fluid, machine runs fine, hydraulic some times overflows out of the fill cap, i use . A smooth constant groan is normal hydraulic whine in many skid steers or anything driven hydrostatically really. The older ones don't have cabs to quiet things down as much and if you have manual controls you will hear even more noise. It does not whine when the handles are in the neutral position. But regardless of the RPM setting, once the levers are engaged at any speed forward or reverse, I get a really noticeable whine from the hydraulics. The whine sounds like that high pitch sound when a hydraulic function is either "left on"..or trying to "engage"..that's the only way I can describe it. But it does go away when the lift arms get raised...
#1. Just got the L785 project skidloader operational and I have 2 questions. -When the 2 speed is in high range (fast) it really has a fairly loud "hydraulic whine" noise. The loader travels fine. Is this whine normal or is there something wrong or misadjusted? Looking at a T190. test drove today and notices a loud whine (or at least louder then I expected) when turning. Salesman said it's normal since it wasn't running full throttle, had it at half throttle at time. I'm new to skid steers, so I'm not sure what is normal. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it normal to get some whine when turning?
I have a New Holland L185 skid loader that's developed an excessive amount of hydraulic noise in the last 10 or so hours of use. Skid loader is a 2010 with 580 hours on it. Hydraulic resevoir is full, changed hydraulic filter, but no luck.Hi Ralph, my name is***** is a suction screen at the bottom of the hydraulic tank but if your pumps are extremely loud and wining you have more serious issues. Check inside the hydraulic filter for signs of metal/debris indicating a pump failure. Be sure that the oil level is full.
Check the oil temp after an hour of use, hydraulic oil (aw46 or equivelant) is ok to 200 -250 degrees but over that number would not be the best case for your pump. Engine oil does not do well over 200 degrees long term.
Learn why your hydraulic pump may make unusual noises and how to fix them.
