I have a 2016 John Deere 317g skid steer that is not shutting off when I turn the key off. A friend was running it and ended up disconnecting the fuel line from the fuel filter to get it to shut off. I know he should have choked it out by covering the air filter to get it to turn off, but this is where we are now.

There is no need to 'bypass' the solenoid electrically -- if it is open internally it will not draw any power. But you do need the solenoid plunger to retract so fuel will flow to the engine for the diesel to start and run. When I used to have my 317, to check the level of the fluid there is a inch long or so slot on the back of the frame to the left of the hitch plate. The fluid level in the sight tube should be between the top and bottom of that slot, preferably in the middle, if it is below the slot add, if above too much fluid.

I tried zip ties and bungees and finally bought a spring mounted hose clamp from Skid Steer Nation Hydraulic Hose Saver .00. Cheaper than new hoses and works well.
