Bought a used CAT skid steer drove it 10 years and got nearly what I paid for it when I bought it. Bought a Kubota, drove it five years sold it for more than I paid. Bought a 2006 Ford F250 4x4 utility box paid 16K for it in 2008 just sold it last month for .5K, so I was paid to drive it for nearly 10 years. Had a 262C, Cat wheeled machine also before we got into the Cat tracked machines. Was a good machine except for - hydraulic pump imploding at 50 hours, oil pan crack at 300 hours and this was due to (I kid you not) work orders comment was "engine set down hard during assembly" and then engine frying at 310 hours due to Cat mechanic installing . Users share their experiences and opinions on different brands and models of older skidsteers, such as New Holland, Bobcat, and Case. See pros and cons of each machine, engine, and attachment.
This is my first time owning a skid steer (2006 t190) and wanted to know what is the safest way to work under such a heavy piece of equipment. I am trying to see if my fuel leak is in the tank or maybe the plug is leaking or gone, thanks.
Best skid loader on market by my standards is kubota. Own cat kubota gehl/tackeutchi and bobcat kubota blows cat out of the water 10 times better. Cat makes one of the worst ctl's to me small cab rough ride. I will only buy kubota or . I was wondering if anyone had any experience with skid steers on slopes mowing or working in general? We would like to replace our compact tractor with a tracked skid with brush mower to open up our options. Obvious concern would be how steep of angle is to steep for the machine. I would say most of the work would be 35-45 degrees or less. The Kubota has more traction force by 2000lb I think. Ignorantly I think that is traction or actual traction force pushing. I do understand real life is diferent than what is on paper. My bug concern is the front and rear casters. The kubota has a much wider front and back. I have ran a TL8 Tac which I de-tracked with the same setup.
I have a Bobcat 773 Turbo, equivalent to the S185 or rubber-tired version of the T190. Though the tracked T190's footprint (effective "wheelbase") is more favorable for a brush mower than the 773/S185, I find that for much brush mowing, the T190 size machine is undersized for handling the brush mower, except on super smooth conditions.
